Armored train in Zvolen

The townof Zvolen is rich in historical monuments, even those with a military theme. A copy of an armored train is located next to the railway station in Višnovského park in Zvolen.

This train is called Hurban, and it was produced by workers in Zvolen. Originally there were three armored trains produced in Zvolen during Slovak National Uprising and they were called Hurban, Masaryk a Štefánik. These trains actively participated in the Slovak National Uprising.

The exposed armored train is a copy made in 1974 for the film about Slovak National Uprising. From the original three trains only two carriages survived the fights. The tank wagon is parked in the railway depot in Zvolen, the machine gun wagon was moved to the park in front of the SNP (Slovak National Uprising) museum in Banská Bystrica.
